Behind every dream wedding on the Coast there is an invisible team directing the show. The wedding set design — illuminated signs with the couple’s names, giant monograms, ceremony backdrops, structures for cake design — is created weeks earlier in our workshop and reaches the venue only a few hours before the guests. In this article we explain how we work for wedding planners and couples marrying on the Amalfi Coast, often from the other side of the world.

The brief: when the wedding planner is 9,000 kilometres away

Most of our wedding projects begin with an email or a video call from the United States. The planner has a moodboard, the couple has a dream, and the venue has strict constraints. Our job is to turn all of this into a working project: we propose sketches and renderings, define sizes and finishes, and give certainty on what matters — what it will look like, when it will be ready and how it will reach the venue. From rendering to set piece: how a piece is made

Once the design is approved, in our workshop in Salerno the drawing becomes material: EPS foam is CNC-cut for precise geometries — monograms, letters, logos — and hand-sculpted for organic shapes. Then come hard-coating and painting, where the piece takes on the required character: pure white, gold, marble effect, floral finishes. The lightness of EPS foam is not a minor detail: in historic venues with difficult access, a set piece that two people can carry is the difference between possible and impossible.

Wedding set design: logistics on the Coast are half the job

Anyone who knows the Coast understands: narrow roads, steps, terraces perched above the sea, restricted access times. That is why so many foreign planners look for an operational partner in Italy rather than a simple supplier. Installation and dismantling: invisible to guests

Installation takes place during the venue’s quiet hours, often on the morning of the event: the team arrives, installs, checks the lights and disappears before the reception suppliers arrive. At the end of the event, dismantling follows the same rule. Our team is also certified for work at height, so suspended signs and aerial installations are not a problem.

Hire: the option couples don’t know about

Many set elements are needed for one evening only. That is why, besides bespoke production, we also offer hire and delivery of set pieces for events and weddings: an illuminated «Love» sign, columns, bases for cake design. The planner creates the installation by combining bespoke pieces — the ones that make the wedding unique — with hired elements that complete the scene while optimising the budget.
