Ilpolistirolo.it is an Italian fabrication company, part of the Vestuto Group, that designs, builds and installs scenic sets, giant 3D letters and signage, trade show and event installations and architectural décor. EPS foam is our specialty, alongside wood, PVC, acrylic, aluminium composite, polyurethane, resins and fibreglass, all worked in-house with CNC milling, joinery, metalwork and spray finishing. Ilpolistirolo.it grew out of the Vestuto Group's experience in visual communication and large-format print, and has been working with EPS foam since 2004.
At our workshop in Salerno, scenic builders, joiners, metalworkers, decorators and sculptors work foam, wood, plastics and resins with hot-wire CNC cutting, CNC milling, fibreglass lamination and professional spray finishing.

EPS foam fabrication: quick answers.
What is EPS foam and why is it used for sets and signage?
EPS (expanded polystyrene) is a lightweight foam that can be CNC-milled with precision. Once coated with resin or fibreglass it becomes rigid and paintable, so large-format pieces weigh a fraction of wood, metal or stone and install faster.
Do you only work with foam?
No. EPS foam is our specialty, but our workshop also works wood, PVC, acrylic and polycarbonate, aluminium composite panels (Dibond, Alucobond), sandwich panels, honeycomb board, polyurethane and XPS, with resins and fibreglass for finishes. One supplier handles the whole project, from structure to graphics.
How big can a foam piece be?
There is no size limit. Large pieces are fabricated in modules and assembled on site, so even letters and sets many metres tall stay easy to ship and install.
Can EPS foam pieces be used outdoors?
Yes, once treated. Resin coating, fibreglass lamination and exterior-grade paints protect them from water, UV and impact. For every project we specify the finish that suits its use and lifespan.
How long does a project take?
We are fast because design, fabrication, finishing and installation all happen in-house, with no subcontractors in between. Lead times depend on the job and are stated in the quote; priority production is available for tight deadlines.
Do you work outside Italy?
Yes. With offices in Salerno and Milan, Rome opening soon, and production in Salerno, we deliver and install across Italy, Europe, Switzerland included, and worldwide, handling freight, customs and permits. Installation at height is carried out by our own IPAF PAL Card crew. Foreign clients also use us as their operations base in Italy.
